5 days from Marrakech to Sahara desert
Day 1: Telouet Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Skoura – Kelaa Mgouna – Dades Gorges
Leave Marrakech and travel to the Kasbah of Telouet, a former residence of the Glaouis, located in the High Atlas Mountains.
Continue your journey to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its narrow streets and discover its traditional architecture.
Continue to Skoura, known for its palm groves and kasbahs. Enjoy the beauty of the landscape and learn about the history of the region.
Continue to Kelaa Mgouna, famous for its rose production. If you travel in season (April-May), you can attend the Festival of Roses.
Finish your day by reaching the Dades Gorge, where you can walk along the rocky cliffs and spend the night in nearby accommodation.
Day 2: Tinghir – Todra – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, depart towards Tinghir, a town at the foot of the Todra Gorge.
Explore the Todra Gorge, an impressive canyon with dramatic rock faces. Enjoy the natural beauty of this place.
Continue on to Erfoud, known for its fossil production and marble industry.
Finally, arrive in Merzouga, where you will have a unique experience. Take a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend the night in a Berber camp in the heart of the desert.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Zagora
Enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga before returning to the village.
Visit the historic town of Rissani, home to historic monuments and a bustling market.
Next, head to Zagora, a town located at the gates of the desert. Explore the surroundings and soak up the desert atmosphere.
Day 4: Zagora – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Leave Zagora and head towards Agdz, crossing the Draa Valley with its verdant palm groves.
Continue on to Ouarzazate, a city famous for its film studios and kasbahs. Visit the studios and see the sets used in many films.
Spend the night in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Enjoy panoramic views of the mountainous landscapes and stop along the way to take photos.
